AGATE - is a semiprecious gemstone, variety of chalcedony quartz. When chalcedony is variegated with with spots or figures or arranged in differently coloured layers, it is called agate, and if by reason of the thickness, colour and arrangement of the layers and it is suitable for being carved into cameos, it is called onyx. It comes in a wide range of colours including black, gray, brown, red, green, pink, blue, white and yellow. Agate can be flecked with colour, such as Moss Agate and is often banded, exhibiting layers of quartz crystals. There are a variety of popular agates including onyx, blue lace agate, and white agate. Historically Agate was used extensively in Egypt and Rome, in ornamental pieces and in jewellery. Considered a protection stone, it is believed to attract strength and offer protection from bad dreams, stress and draining energy.
DRUZY QUARTZ- Also spelt as Drusy or Drusie, is a thin layer of sparkling quartz crystals covering the surface of a host stone, also found in a pocket within a stone. One good example of Druzy is the sprinkle of crystals filled inside the cavity of a geode. The term geode is derived from the Greek word Geoidesw hich means "earthlike."A geode is a round rock which contains a hollow cavity lined with crystals.
