IOLITE- also known as Dichroite or Cordierite is a blue silicate mineral that occurs as crystals. The name Iolite is derived from the Greek "los", meaning violet.  It has a pleasing colour of blue, but a rather extraordinary optical property, that produces different colours when the stone is viewed in different lights and at different angles. Iolite appears as violet-blue or indigo, but in different positions may shift to a yellow-gray or honey colour and even pale blue. The term pleochroic is used to describe this attribute. According to Norse legend, when the legendary Viking mariners sailed the wide ocean, they used thin pieces of iolite as the world's first polarizing filter. Looking through an iolite lens, they could determine the exact position of the sun, and navigate safely. Iolite known as the Vikings' compass, nowadays is considered to be a stone of vision, enhancing creative expression.

Moonstone- is a transparent, slightly iridescent, milky white variety of feldspar with white or light blue opalescent spots. Its name is derived from a visual effect, or sheen, caused by light reflecting internally in the moonstone from layer inclusion of different feldspars. Moonstone has been used as jewellery for centuries, including ancient civilizations. The Romans admired moonstone, as they believed it was born from solidified rays of the moon. Both the Romans and Greeks associated Moonstone with their lunar gods and goddesses. It is believed to aid communication by promoting clear thinking, inspiration and receptivity. Assists in the fulfilment of one's destiny.
